Fox News’s Chief National Security Correspondent Jennifer Griffin noted the extreme cost disparity on Friday of the Trump administration using military flights to send migrants to Guantanamo Bay versus a regular ICE flight and asked, “Where’s DOGE?”

Griffin shared a Friday Wall Street Journal article detailing how Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem plans to use Guantanamo Bay to house migrants that ICE says have a criminal background.

“Noem is expected to visit the detention and processing center and receive tours and briefings on the base, better known for its notorious prison for terror suspects,” the WSJ reported, adding:

Her trip will come after two C-17 military flights each carrying roughly a dozen migrants departed from Fort Bliss, Texas, for Guantanamo Bay this week, with more expected. The flights have carried migrants who are in the U.S. illegally and who have been deemed high-risk by the Trump administration.

The second flight, which arrived on the base Thursday, carried 13 migrants who were known gang members from Venezuela, according to a Department of Homeland Security official. Their crimes included homicide, weapons trafficking, distribution of dangerous drugs, assault and robbery, the DHS official said.

Griffin pointed out a key detail on the cost of those C-17 flights and questioned whether or not that is in line with the cost-saving agenda of Elon Musk’s DOGE, which effectively shuttered USAID this week causing an uproar in national security circles.

“Where’s DOGE? It costs $28,500 an hour to fly a C-17, compared with $8,500 an hour for a standard Immigration and Customs Enforcement flight. 13 migrants flown to Gitmo on 2nd near empty U.S. military C17 flight Thursday,” Griffin noted on X. “This week’s flights from Texas to Guantanamo took roughly five hours,” explained the WSJ further on the flight’s high cost.

Later in the day, she also shared a letter from House Democrats asking Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to explain his request for funds for his home. “Dems on House Appropriations Committee ask why Sec Hegseth needs $137,297 for home repairs/paint for government residence, in light of DOGE efforts to save tax payer money?” Griffin posted, while sharing the letter.
