White House Dunks on Fox News Host For Voicing Displeasure Over Biden Speech Slamming Network

Fox News’ Martha MacCallum was upset with President Joe Biden for “scowling” at MAGA Americans and taking “pot shots” at Fox News during his first campaign speech of 2024, prompting a White House spokesman to troll the anchor on X.

During his speech near Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, Biden called Donald Trump a “loser” and mocked Fox News for having to pay out nearly a billion dollars to Dominion Voting Systems for promoting his election lies.

Biden talked about “state and local elected officials across the country” who faced personal attacks for defying Trump’s claim. “In addition,” he said, “Fox News agreed to pay a record $787 million for the lies that they told about voter fraud.”

On Friday’s The Story With Martha MacCallum, the host accused Biden of sowing division.

“He talked about how he is president to all Americans, which is certainly what he said when he ran and certainly what he said in the inaugural,” MacCallum said. She continued:

But based on the polling that we’ve seen, that is not how a lot of Americans feel. He went a few times after what he calls “MAGA Americans,” scowling at that entire group of people that make up, you know, I don’t know if MAGA  Americans make up half the country, but you’ve got a lot of people who don’t support this president. He took a couple pot shots at this network, which more people in America watch than any other network in the country, so I don’t know if they feel that this is a president to all of America. It’s not a terribly unifying or “reaching out” speech here.

White House spokesman Andrew Bates then quickly took to X to troll MacCallum.

“I’ll bet you $787 million that there’s more to it, Martha,” he posted above a New York Times headline from April 24 that read, “Fox Stars Privately Expressed Disbelief About Election Fraud Claims. ‘Crazy Stuff.'”
