From Chuck Todd to Ron DeSantis, The Political World Rages About Florida State’s Playoff Snub: ‘Never Shoulda Outsourced the Playoff Lobbying to a Super PAC’

Just like the sports world, much of the political world is up in arms about undefeated Florida State being left out of the college football playoff.

In a scathing post on X/Twitter, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) denounced the exclusion of the Seminoles from the four-team tournament to determine college football’s champion.

“What we learned today is that you can go undefeated and win your conference championship game, but the College Football Playoff committee will ignore these results,” DeSantis wrote.

Others in the political world reacted similarly.

Ironically, the most irate observer from the political world is NBC’s Chuck Todd — a well-known superfan of the University of Miami, a longtime Florida State rival.

“Leaving out an undefeated from a Power 5 is ridiculous,” Todd wrote — referring to the fact that Florida State is the first undefeated Power 5 team in history to be snubbed from the playoff. “Plenty of teams are better if healthy, but winning when NOT healthy is a lot harder.”
