WATCH: Tim Scott Yet Again Gives Dodgy Answer When Asked if He’ll Certify the 2024 Election

Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), who has repeatedly dodged making a commitment to certifying the 2024 election, gave another nebulous answer when CNN’s Dana Bash asked him the question again.

On Sunday’s State of the Union, Bash said, “A lot of Republicans have been refusing to commit to accepting the election results in 2024. You haven’t done so yet, so let me ask you it this way: You will be a sitting United States senator in January of 2025. Will you vote to certify the election no matter who wins?”

“Well, certainly,” Scott answered. “We expect a fair and honest election, and as a result of that expectation, we will certify the election, and certify President Donald Trump as our 47th president.”

Bash accepted that answer, saying simply, “Ok.”

Bash’s interview follows a recent, viral exchange between Scott and Kristen Welker on Meet The Press — in which Scott refused six times to commit to accepting the election results:

“Will you commit to accepting the election results of 2024: Bottom line?” Welker asked.

“At the end of the day, the 47th president of the United States will be President Donald Trump,” Scott said.

“Wait Senator,” Welker said, “Yes or no? Will you accept the election results of 2024 no matter who wins?”

“That is my statement,” he said.

“Just yes or no: Will you accept the election results of 2024?” Welker said.

“I look forward to President Trump being the 47th president,” Scott said. “Kristen, you can ask him multiple times—”

“Sir,” Welker said. “Just a yes or no answer.”

“The American people will make the decision,” he replied. “And the decision will be for President Trump.”

Welker tried one last time.

“The hallmark of our democracy is that both candidates agree to a peaceful transfer of power. So I’m asking you, as a potential VP nominee, will you accept to commit to the election results in this election cycle, no matter who wins? Just simply yes or no.”

“I expect President Trump to win the next election. Listen, I’m not going to ask to answer your hypothetical question,” Scott said.

Trump is said to be considering Scott as a potential vice presidential pick.
