Ainsley Earhardt Defends Karine Jean-Pierre from Brian Kilmeade’s ‘Awful’ Critique: ‘Maybe Just Give Her a Chance’
Fox News’ Ainsley Earhardt offered a magnanimous take on Karine Jean-Pierre by defending the new White House press secretary from the criticisms of her colleague, Brian Kilmeade.
On Thursday, Fox & Friends talked about how Jean-Pierre responded to Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy’s questions, particularly on how Americans are supposed to deal with gas costs as they remain high. Kilmeade was not impressed by her answers, noting Jean-Pierre’s repetition of Biden administration talking points, plus her referrals to her briefing notes.
“She is off to an awful start. I don’t know how she is going to keep that job,” Kilmeade said. “She didn’t know anything instinctively, was reading things off…You have to understand the issues in order to be able to answer the questions. It makes you think you can’t even use those soundbites for a news story.”
“It has to be a very nerve-wracking job though,” Earhardt said, to which, Kilmeade retorted “she’s not prepared for it.”
Kilmeade went on to assess that Jean-Pierre’s predecessor, Jen Psaki, was “lightyears better from day one.”
“Maybe just give her a chance,” Earhardt said. “Maybe in a few weeks…”
“Would not be surprised if she does not get any better,” Kilmeade concluded.
