Ainsley Earhardt Tells Fox Viewers ‘You’re Paying’ $80,000 in Taxes for ‘One Illegal,’ Lists Killings and Rapes Committed By Immigrants
Fox & Friends host Ainsley Earhardt told her network’s audience that “you’re working hard to pay for” undocumented immigrants, before cherrypicking a number of rapes and killings committed or charged to immigrants illegally in the country.
“When you think about how hard you work, you’re waking up this morning, you’re trying to put food on the table, you’re going to work, many people go to jobs they don’t like, and then you look at the numbers,” Earhardt said today, the morning after President Donald Trump’s national plea for border wall funding.
“You’re spending about $80,000 — a little over $80,000 — for one of those illegals’ lifetime to keep them here in the U.S. You’re paying for them, and you’re working hard to pay for them,” she added, before parroting the president’s border talking points from last night. “Then you look at the numbers of people who are doing illegal drugs here, the president highlighted that last night, and then you hear him talk about, he said imagine if this were your child that were killed by an illegal alien.”
The Fox News host went on to name a number of American family who lost someone due to a crime tied to an undocumented immigrant, which has been a common theme for conservatives, particularly Trump, who calls these victims “angel families” and invited some of them to the White House. Earhardt mentioned the infamous murder cases of Ronil Singh, Kate Steinle, and others, all of which have been used as major GOP talking points, but did not mention research behind the crime data.
“You hear that and you wonder why Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are saying it’s immoral to build a wall, saying it’s not a crisis?” She concluded.
A 2018 study from the Koch-founded Cato Institute, a libertarian think tank, found that, “Illegal immigrants are 47 percent less likely to be incarcerated than natives.”
