The Romneys have been repeatedly questioned this election cycle about Mitt Romney‘s refusal to release any additional tax returns — and Ann Romney‘s Rock Center interview with Natalie Morales was no different. But she only drove home the campaign’s message that there will be no more returns made public.
Asked about the issue, Romney responded, “Have you seen how we’ve been attacked?”
We have been very transparent to what’s legally required of us. But the more we release, the more we get attacked, the more we get questioned, the more we get pushed. So we have done what’s legally required and there’s going to be no more tax releases given.
Releasing anything more, Romney said, “will only give them more ammunition.” Maintaining that there’s nothing they’re hiding about they’re finances, she noted — as the Romney campaign has in the past — that the finances have been managed by a blind trust.
“And so, you know, I’ll be curious to see what’s in there too,” she said.
The full interview is set to air Thursday night.
