Avenatti Slams Trump’s Twitter Defense of Stormy Payment: Whoever Wrote That is ‘An Absolute Moron’

As Donald Trump defends himself from the latest Stormy Daniels newsflash, her lawyer is ripping the president’s statement as moronic and self-destructive.

Michael Avenatti spoke to CNN’s Alisyn Camerota on Thursday morning and reacted to how Rudy Giuliani contradicted Michael Cohen‘s story about not getting reimbursed for the hush money he paid Stormy Daniels.

Camerota noted that Trump released a comprehensive statement on Twitter in the aftermath of the Giuliani interview declaring that the porn star payoff was not a campaign contribution, that such nondisclosure agreements are “common” for people like him, and that it didn’t break any laws.

Beyond Trump contradicting his earlier claims of not knowing about the Daniels payment, multiple speculators doubt he actually wrote those tweets since they sound almost nothing like himself. Avenatti is one of those doubters, saying as much when asked for his thoughts.

“First of all, the president did not write any one of those tweets,” he said. “Second, whoever the attorney is that wrote those tweets is an absolute moron because now what they’ve done is create additional significant liability for the president. And third, they don’t even know how to tweet. That’s almost unintelligible.”
