Bernie Sanders: Trump Should ‘Also Think About Resigning’ Over Sexual Misconduct Allegations

Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont called for President Donald Trump to consider “resigning” from his elected position due to the numerous sexual misconduct claims that have been against him — as well as his admission of such actions in the Access Hollywood tape.
When asked to compare the allegations made against GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore and Senator Al Franken — who have been accused of child molestation and non-consensual groping, respectively — Sanders said he wanted to take the conversation “a step further.”
“We have a POTUS who acknowledged on a tape widely seen all over the country that he’s assaulted women, so I would hope maybe the president of the United States might pay attention of what’s going on and also think about resigning,” said the independent Vermont senator in an appearance on CBS This Morning.
The allegations against Trump have been made by 13 women and range from non-consensual groping and kissing to outright sexual assault. A number of accusers came forward last October following the release of the “grab ’em by the pussy” tape that Sanders referenced.
During the interview, the senator also noted that there are countless women throughout America whose stories will never be heard as their harassers “are not famous.”
“What I worry about right now, as we speak, in restaurants and in offices all over this country where you have bosses who are not famous, there is harassment of women and women are being intimidated. We need a cultural revolution in this country,” said Sanders.
