CBS’ Margaret Brennan: We Invited on Two Dozen Senate Republicans After Trump Acquitted — ‘No One Accepted’

CBS’ Margaret Brennan ended Sunday’s Face the Nation with a note to viewers about Republicans they tried to book on the program.
The Donald Trump impeachment trial ended Saturday after only 57 senators voted to convict the former president, 10 votes short of the two-thirds majority needed. Only 7 Republicans joined Democrats to vote to convict Trump.

Brennan took a moment during the end of the show Sunday to say the following:
“We did offer invitations to over two dozen Senate Republicans to join us today. No one accepted.”
And if that wasn’t clear enough, Brennan later tweeted that these invitations were to senators “following their votes to acquit former President Trump.”
