Chris Wallace Apologizes to Kelly Clarkson for Weight Comment
Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace issued a statement to Mediaite Sunday apologizing for his comment about Kelly Clarkson’s weight.
“I sincerely apologize to Kelly Clarkson for my offensive comment,” Wallace told Mediaite. “I admire her remarkable talent and that should have been the focus of any discussion about her.”
Wallace’s comments came during a discussion about pizza with conservative radio host Mike Gallagher, which ironically began with a joke about fat-shaming.
“Have you seen Kelly Clarkson? You know the singer, Kelly Clarkson?” Gallagher asked Wallace. “Holy cow, did she blow up” Gallagher continued.

Wallace didn’t initially respond, but then doubled back around to say, “She has a nice voice,” and then added: “She could stay off the deep dish pizza for a little while.”
His colleague Greta van Susteren called on Wallace to apologize earlier in the week. Gallagher has also apologized.
