CNN’s Baldwin to Dem Protesting Trump on SNL: Can’t You Just Not Watch?

CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin asked a Democratic congresswoman protesting Donald Trump‘s SNL hosting gig this week why it’s such a big deal. Sanchez and other members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus are speaking out against Trump hosting, and there’s been huge demand to boot Trump off the show. SNL won’t do it, of course, because it’ll be ratings gold.

Rep. Loretta Sanchez told Baldwin it’s “an affront” to Latinos to have Trump on because of all the “negative things” he’s said. Baldwin pointed out that SNL does have a right to do whatever they want, just as others have a right to not watch.

Sanchez said she believes in free speech, but at the same time, “you’re not allowed to go into an auditorium and yell, ‘Fire fire fire!'” She insisted that Trump’s rhetoric is harmful and it’s “endangering Latinos” to enable The Donald.
