CNN’s Phil Mudd Goes Off on Trump: ‘Does This Guy Not Think We Speak English?!’

Earlier today, President Donald Trump held an impromptu press conference as he departed the White House. At one point, he was asked by MSNBC’s Hallie Jackson if he should be a more civil leader in the wake of Sen. Jeff Flake’s excoriating speech and the controversy over his call with a grieving Gold Star widow.

“I think the press makes me more uncivil than I am,” Trump said. “People don’t understand, I went to an Ivy League college, and I was a nice student and I did very well. I’m a very intelligent person. You know, the fact is I think — I really believe, I think the press creates a different image of Donald Trump than the real person.”

During a CNN panel discussion tonight, CNN analyst Phil Mudd absolutely went off on the president’s comments. Asked by anchor Wolf Blitzer to give his reaction, the former CIA counterterrorism official let it loose.

“Does this guy not think we speak English?!” he exclaimed. Mudd went on to say that when you look at the “unfiltered language” of the president, you’ll see that he’s attacked the FBI, a war widow, and a Hispanic judge, among others.

“The guy’s got the personality of a rattlesnake,” Mudd said. “He’s got the ethics of a sewer rat.”

Mudd would finish up his tirade by calling Trump a “bridge troll.” This is far from the first time Mudd has sounded off on the president. Last week, he said that Trump had the “empathy of a cockroach.”
