Dershowitz’s Wife and Daughter Deny ‘Laughable’ Rape Allegations
Alan Dershowitz and his wife and daughter came out swinging against recent allegations that the Harvard Law professor once had sex with an underage prostitute, vigorously defending him in public.
“Anyone that knows us would find it laughable if it weren’t so serious,” Carolyn Dershowitz, his wife of 30 years, said during an interview with Inside Edition that aired last night. “He is the least likely person in the entire world that this would be true of.”
A recent lawsuit from a woman known as Jane Doe #3 accused financier Jeffrey Epstein of forcing her to have sex with him, along with Dershowitz and Britain’s Prince Andrew, on a private plane when she was underage. Dershowitz had defended Epstein against separate allegations that he had sex with underage prostitutes, though Epstein lost that case and was sentenced to 18 months in jail on a single charge of felony solicitation of prostitution.
The famed defense lawyer and pro-Israel advocate has been on the warpath ever since the allegations emerged against him, not only denying them on multiple television shows, but also filing an oath denying the allegations and calling for the disbarment of the woman’s lawyers.
Carolyn Dershowitz was just as fierce in her defense. “When he poses for pictures, he is so careful not to touch anyone, to the point where he doesn’t even touch our good friends when he poses for pictures,” she told Inside Edition. “He doesn’t meet with female students alone. He knows he’s a target for this kind of thing. And he lives his life like people can see any of it in public.”
Ella Dershowitz, his 25-year-old daughter, also called the allegations “patently untrue,” and that she was glad to defend her father.
“My parents are pretty much joined at the hip, and all three of us were together on family vacation eating ice cream, playing cards, and searching for buried treasure with a metal detector during three of the times in question,” she wrote on Facebook. “If [my mother] thought there was one iota of truth to this story, she wouldn’t be the one setting up the Skype for these interviews.”
