‘DESPITE CAMPAIGN VOWS’: Fox Does Flashback Montage of Biden Promising ‘Not Another Foot’ of Border Wall

Fox News on Thursday ran a few reminder clips of past promises and commentary about the border after President Joe Biden’s reversal on building new border wall was revealed.

The Biden administration is waiving environmental regulations and building new wall in an area of Texas that has seen hundreds of thousands of illegal crossings this year alone — a construction project that Biden vowed would not be undertaken when making campaign promises in 2020.

Both Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were featured in a mini-montage on America’s Newsroom, in a segment that featured banner headlines reading “BIDEN BACKTRACKS ON WALL AMID BORDER SURGE” and “BIDEN RESUMES BORDER WALL DESPITE CAMPAIGN VOWS.”

The clips featured the vow, including Biden making a plain and unambiguous guarantee: “There will not be another foot of wall constructed in my administration.”

That, however, was not correct. Another clip played by Fox was Biden saying “You should come” to the United States, which proved to be an effective invitation.

And Fox News correspondent Jeff Paul reported from the border on just how effective, covering the crisis faced in the area where construction is to take place.

After immediate backlash to the reports, Biden claimed to reporters that he had no choice in the matter, that his hands were tied, and that he has no faith the wall will do any good. Soon after, a DHS spokesperson put out a political statement attesting to the humane and goodly intent of the blameless Biden.
