Devin Nunes Tells Hannity That the Media ‘Is Basically Part’ of the Democrats’ Team
Devin Nunes said on Monday night that the political press is pretty much an arm of the Democrats, based on how they’ve covered his memo on supposed FISA abuses and FBI malpractice.
The House Intelligence Committee chairman has given several interviews in the past few days, grumbling about lying Democrats and how Adam Schiff wants him off the committee. In a new interview with Sean Hannity, Nunes said that he is asking the FISA court to provide transcripts pertaining to the investigation on Carter Page, and he eventually started hammering the press for not being more electrified by his findings.
“Can you imagine if the shoe was on the other foot and Donald Trump or George Bush or Karl Rove paid for information, and George W. Bush‘s FBI open an investigation into the Obama campaign because they were talking to Russians…Yet its crickets from the media. It’s embarrassing. It’s absolutely embarrassing. I’m almost flabbergasted. I thought, at least, there would be some ounce of credibility left. But there really is none.”
As Nunes proceeded to talk about the Hillary Clinton campaign’s “clear link” to Russia, Hannity slammed Democrats for reportedly calling it a “footnote” that Christopher Steele received payment from Clinton’s team. From there, Nunes lamented about leaks from Democrats, and he said that the press is “basically part of their team.”
“They run a story that is based on something partially true, then they say they come back and accuse us of doctoring up a document. I go by the rule for whatever they accuse you of doing, they are actually doing.”
