Fox Business’ Gasparino: ‘Someone Should Tell Trump to Stop Talking About the Markets’
After today’s Dow plunge, Fox Business Network’s Charlie Gasparino said President Trump may want to avoid talking about the market so much.
As the President spoke on the economy this afternoon, CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC all cut away with breaking news about the Dow plunge (it closed down roughly 1175 points).
Gasparino appeared on The Five today and bluntly said, “There’s nothing nice you can say about what happened here.”
He said this is “temporary,” but also added, “Someone should tell Trump to stop talking about the markets. It’s not a good thing to be touting the market going up, ’cause they always correct. From a political standpoint, he should stick to the economy, which is obviously getting better.”
On Twitter before his brief Fox hit, he asked if Trump should start “owning the recent dip” since he “gave himself credit” when things were going good:
The Dow Jones had the largest intraday point drop in history, finishing the day down over 1,000 points! @realDonaldTrump gave himself credit for the market jump during his first year in office. Should he start owning the recent dip? I discuss with @TheFive NOW on @FoxNews!
