Fox News’ Gregg Jarrett Trashes ‘Con Man and Prodigious Liar’ Michael Cohen: No Integrity or Courage

Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett went after President Donald Trump‘s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen Wednesday night, calling him a “con man and prodigious liar.”

Jarrett — who is still enjoying his perch at the top of the New York Times bestseller list for his book The Russia Hoax: The Illicit Scheme to Clear Hillary Clinton and Frame Donald Trump — decried Cohen for pleading guilty to felony campaign finance crimes that implicated Trump.

Cohen stated that he paid off porn star Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal “at the direction of” Trump during the 2016 campaign, “for the principal purpose of influencing the election.”

“Overzealous prosecutors have no qualms about getting an accused to lie on their behalf,” Jarrett said, while hosting Lou Dobbs on Fox Business Network. “It’s extortion, it’s bribery and I’m sad to say that as a lawyer myself I hate to see it happen, but it happens all too often.”

Jarrett then ran his baseless claim through a hypothetical scenario:

“They say we got 55 charges against you, Mr. Cohen. You’re going spend the rest of your life behind bars, you’ll never see your wife and kids again. But if you sign this paper implicating the president in a non-crime and will pretend it’s a crime, we will give you three to five years.”

“Cohen didn’t have the integrity or the courage to actually do what was right,” Jarrett added. “Of course he’s a con man and a prodigious liar.”
