Fox News’ MediaBuzz Covers Former FNCer Megyn Kelly’s ‘Awkward’ Week on NBC

Remember when Megyn Kelly used to be at Fox News? So does Fox News. And Howard Kurtz looked today at Kelly’s debut week and how the media has covered it.

As he noted, the reviews have been “pretty harsh,” and Kurtz defended his former colleague a bit against the harsher reviews and some of the criticisms she’s received (like over her Jane Fonda interview).

But he did ask at the start, “Was it a mistake for Megyn Kelly, known as a tough political interrogator and for her battles with Donald Trump, to announce she’s kind of done with politics?”

The Hollywood Reporter‘s Marisa Guthrie said it’s a “misreading of the cultural moment,” especially when politics Kelly’s bread and butter for years.

She did say there has been “an awkwardness” over the course of the week, while also acknowledging that people deserve more than a week before their shows get written off completely.

Kurtz defended Kelly a little on the Fonda question and said, “Jane Fonda has talked openly about plastic surgery in the past… So is a morning show host only supposed to ask celebs innocuous questions about ‘tell us how great your new movie is’?”
