Fox News’ The Five Goes Off on Russia Media Coverage: CNN, MSNBC ‘Dug Their Own Grave’

The hosts of Fox News’ The Five opened today by ripping the months and months of Russia media coverage and speculation following the release of AG Bill Barr‘s summary of Robert Mueller‘s findings.

They ran a montage showing a lot of speculation and “if true” coverage of some reporting, before Greg Gutfeld said, “Hello, 9-1-1? I’d like to report a death. It’s the mainstream media finally choking on their own lies.”

He argued that more so than feeling vindication, President Donald Trump should be “ticked off” because the report’s conclusions won’t “undo the harmful crap the country went through thanks to a media who pushed this hallucination.”

Jesse Watters said yesterday felt like “election night all over again”:

“This was a knockout punch to the mainstream media. I don’t think they’re ever going to recover. Their credibility is completely shot. Millions of Americans will never take them seriously ever again. They booked their shows full of fools. A roster of fools, who now they need to let their contracts expire and put them out to pasture. It was all a bunch of boys who cried wolf and they never booked the other side.”

He ripped CNN and MSNBC, saying “they dug their own grave,” predicting that their ratings will “soften” while Fox News’ will “take a pop.”

When Gutfeld asked if the media will do any self-reflection, Martha MacCallum said it looks like the others channels are focused on “this little opening for obstruction of justice, this potential that may be there is some avenue for recovery that perhaps there was obstruction of justice.”
