GOP Strategist Compares Staffers Working For Trump to Dogs Flying United: ‘It’s Toxic’

During an appearance on MSNBC this morning, Republican strategist Evan Siegfried likened the employment security of staffers working for the Trump administration to the physical security of canines flying on America’s most-hated, dog-killing airline.

With their reputation for dragging customers already known, United Airlines has come under fire again after a flight attendant inadvertently killed a dog by forcing the pet into an unsafe, above-head compartment. Given the recent ousting of Rex Tillerson and the untimely departure of other top officials, Siegfried used the tragic dog incident to show how risky it is to work in Donald Trump’s White House.

Siegfried said the following while speaking to anchor Stephanie Ruhle

“It goes to the whole point of how he can’t staff up the White House with these competent Republican operatives and people who understand how the levers of power work. Potential staffers relish the opportunity to work in the White House as much as a dog wants to fly on United right now. That is what the Whit House is like — it’s a toxic environment. You have a president who undercuts himself.”

Additionally, Siegfried noted that Tillerson’s firing could prove to be a major hindrance to Trump after he chose to disrespect the former Exxon CEO by firing him via a tweet.

“I wasn’t a fan of Rex Tillerson, but the way he fired Rex Tillerson, not only was inappropriate, but it’s going to create an emeny in Rex Tillerson,” argued Siegfried.

He continued by pulling out a reference to the infamous 1980s Alaskan oil spill, saying, “I wouldn’t be surprised if Rex leaks more than the Exxon Valdez.”
