‘High Threshold For Humiliation’: Fox’s Tarlov Roasts Republicans For Calling Witnesses Who ‘Decimated’ Their Biden Allegations

Fox News host Jessica Tarlov roasted House Republicans for continuing to call witnesses who dismiss allegations of wrongdoing against President Joe Biden.

Republican lawmakers in the House are in the midst of conducting an impeachment inquiry against the president over allegations that he used his influence while serving as vice president to benefit his family’s overseas business dealings.

On Wednesday, the president’s younger brother, James Biden, testified on Capitol Hill in a closed-door meeting where he claimed Biden was never involved in any of his business dealings while he serving in office.

Tarlov slammed House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) for continuing to call witnesses who provide testimony directly contradicting the allegations of corruption against Biden.

Moreover, The Five co-host also noted GOP lawmakers must have a “high threshold for humiliation” following the arrest of Alexander Smirnov, the informant who claimed the president received a $5 million bribe to get Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin fired, for lying to the FBI last week:

I don’t know why Jim Comer and Jim Jordan thought that perhaps it was going to be Joe Biden’s brother that brought him down. But this is the path that they’ve chosen to take. And honestly, I’m surprised that they have this high of a threshold for humiliation, for every witness that they have called has decimated their argument, from David Archer to Peter Schwerin to Marvin Yon. And then we have the guy behind the holy grail document, the 1023 Alexander Smirnov, who’s found that he had lied about the charges, the $5 million that went to both of them. And then it gets even better. Not only did he lie, he was lying because the Russians were feeding him the disinformation. It’s so embarrassing.

I think Jamie Raskin was spot on when he said that this impeachment inquiry really ended yesterday, when we found out that we have a Russian asset that was foundational to this impeachment inquiry, and Jim Comer and Jim Jordan should maybe try doing something for their constituents and let this go because it’s going nowhere.
