James Carville Blasts ‘Sexually Inadequate’ Taylor Swift Conspiracy Theorists: ‘You Can’t Be That Dumb, Can You?’

James Carville offered some colorful analysis of conservatives who believe Joe Biden’s campaign is arranging for Taylor Swift to endorse the president ahead of this year’s presidential election. Additionally, some on the right have claimed the Super Bowl will be rigged in favor of the Kansas City Chiefs and their tight end Travis Kelce, who is dating Swift.

Swift endorsed Biden in 2020, but she has not weighed in on this year’s race.

During Wednesday’s edition of AC360, guest host John Berman played clips of Fox News hosts either floating the theory or urging Swift not to endorse Biden and asked the famous Democratic strategist for his thoughts.

“If you’re Donald Trump or part of the far right and you’re having trouble with women voters, is there a worse strategy than attacking Taylor Swift?” Berman asked.

“I don’t think there’s anything strategic about this,” Carville replied. “I think most of these people are sexually inadequate and they go for all this crazy stuff. And I don’t think– and there’s nothing strategic about something that stupid. It’s just real stupidity to believe something like that. And she seems to me – I’m not very familiar with her generation – she seems like a really nice person, kind of well-raised and, you know, gives people that work for her like $100,000 bonuses. What’s there not to like about Ms. Swift? I have no idea. I didn’t get the memo.”

“Do you think it’ll blow up in their face?” Berman asked.

“I don’t know if their face is blown-uppable,” Carville replied. “But it’s massively entertaining to watch people this stupid go public. Honestly, John, I can’t get enough of it. I mean, come on. You can’t be that dumb, can you?”

The Chiefs will play the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas. Swift will be touring in Japan at the time, but may still attend the game.
