Joy Behar: Republicans Want to Rush Through Kavanaugh to Retain ‘White Power’

The View Joy Behar tore into Supreme Court justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh after the Senate Judicial Committee’s hearings over Christine Blasey Ford’s sexual allegations against the judge, attacking his credibility, calling Senator Lindsey Graham “a crazy person,” and warning about “white power” taking over America.

“All it was was a dog and pony show so that Lindsey Graham can act like a crazy person,” co-host Joy Behar said, noting that the hearings didn’t accomplish much since most of the information discussed was previously known.

Abby Huntsman, a former Fox News personality and the show’s newest co-host, said there are still “too many questions” to rush the confirmation vote, but noted that she empathizes Kavanaugh and Ford.

Behar jumped back into the discussion, warning viewers that Republicans fear the white population in America is decreasing.

“Pretty soon we’ll be like South Africa, apartheid, where 10% of white people were running the country,” she said. “It seems like the trajectory that we’re on here.”

“We hope not, but this is what they want,” Behar continued. “The people who are only interesting in retaining white power in this country.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin called Ford’s account “150% credible,” while Kavanaugh was not.

“She was telling the truth, in my view, when he came up, I did not find him as credible,” said Hostin. “I think that credibility, candor, character and impartiality are the most important qualities for a Supreme Court justice, and he doesn’t have those.”

Whoopi Goldberg, she viewed the hearing as a “job interview,” rather than a trial.

“This wasn’t about putting you in jail. This was to determine whether you’re too much of a frat boy still to sit on the court,” she said. “This wasn’t about taking you to jail. This was a job interview that we all have to have.”
