Kimmel Attempts to Comfort Drunken Toys’R’Us Mascot Geoffrey the Giraffe Over Store Closings

On Thursday night, Jimmy Kimmel addressed the sad news that Toys’R’Us will be closing all of its locations in the near future.

“Toys’R’Us is closing all 735 of their stores and they’re putting Babies’R’Us up for adoption,” Kimmel joked. “I’ll tell ya, I’ll always remember Toys’R’Us as the store where my children had a complete and total meltdown every time we went there. I guess people don’t enjoy that anymore, they buy toys online now.”

Kimmel added that Amazon “will not rest” until every other store is an “abandoned warehouse teeming with raccoons.”

But then an unexpected visitor stopped by the show. It was Geoffrey the Giraffe, the Toys’R’Us mascot.

“I have a question for everyone here,” Geoffrey the Giraffe said. “Do you guys like toys? Well, I don’t have any because we’re bankrupt!”

Geoffrey the Giraffe began sobbing. Kimmel attempted to comfort the mascot, telling him everything was going to be “okay.”

“No it’s not!” Geoffrey the Giraffe shouted. “No it’s not because all of you b*tches bought toys on Amazon! Now I’m out of a job!”

“Geoffrey, your breath smells a little bit like alcohol,” Kimmel observed. “Are you drunk? Tell me the truth.”

“YES. I’m drunk,” Geoffrey the Giraffe responded.

The mascot then began singing the old “I’m a Toys’R’Us Kid” jingle.

“This is the saddest thing I have ever seen,” Kimmel reacted.

Kimmel then asked his security guard/sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez to escort out and “maybe get him another drink or something.”

“Cheer up, Geoffrey,” Kimmel told the mascot on his way out.
