Krauthammer Responds to Scaramucci Comments: ‘Degradation of the Presidency’

On Thursday, The New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza revealed a bombshell interview he had on Wednesday night with the new White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci.

Scaramucci did not request that the interview be off-the-record before going on an expletive-filled rant where he called Reince Priebus “a fucking paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac,” and declared “I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own cock.”

Scaramucci attempted to defend his actions on Thursday afternoon and tweeted, “I sometimes use colorful language. I will refrain in this arena but not give up the passionate fight for @realDonaldTrump’s agenda. #MAGA”

Fox NewsCharles Krauthammer weighed in on Thursday evening’s Special Report about Scaramucci’s comments and the chaos that seems to be taking over the White House.

“In that tweet that I referenced earlier, Scaramucci says that he sometimes uses colorful language. Obviously he is a New Yorker. What about this?” host Bret Baier asked Krauthammer.

“Being a New Yorker is no excuse,” he replied. “This is the degradation of the Presidency. This is where we have come to. None of us have ever seen this, the reason is that it is not to be done – that kind of language is not to be used – particulary when it’s infighting in the White House.”

“[Trump is] the only one who can restrain this,” Krauthammer believes. “He appears not to because perhaps he believes Scaramucci is the guy who will clear the swamp in the White House.”

“This is really disgraceful,” he concluded.
