Other than the Patriots’ incredible comeback at last night’s Super Bowl, Lady Gaga had the biggest win of the night. Her halftime show was epic. She kicked it off by singing pieces of “God Bless America” and “This Land is Your Land.” Then, she flew off the roof and down to the stage where she played hit after hit, sending the message of inclusion she aims to every time she performs. During her song “Born This Way,” she sang the lyrics “No matter gay straight or bi / Lesbian transgender life / I’m on the right track baby I was born to survive.” Without being controversial or political at all, she definitely made a statement.
And, she can sing. Like, she can really, really sing. And did we mention the drones? There were hundreds of them. Needless to say, her performance was well-received. Gaga earned praise on Twitter from users including Hillary Clinton. Of course, there were also a lot of memes and jokes:
I’m one of 100 million #SuperBowl fans that just went #Gaga for the Lady, & her message to all of us. https://t.co/8AoNqjwr1b
