Laura Ingraham Baffled By Rudy Giuliani’s Admission Trump Repaid Stormy Daniels Money: ‘That’s a Problem’
Rudy Giuliani dropped something of a bombshell on Sean Hannity’s show Wednesday night, revealing President Donald Trump personally repaid his lawyer Michael Cohen for his hush money payment to Stormy Daniels, the porn star claiming she had an affair with Trump.
And even Fox News’ Laura Ingraham was taken aback by Giuliani’s admission, which flies in the face of Trump’s claims that he did not know about Cohen’s payment to Stormy.
Giuliani, who recently joined Trump’s legal team, made the comment in defense against allegations Trump violated campaign finance laws by paying Daniels just weeks before the 2016 election.
Ingraham played a clip of Trump on Air Force One from April 6, 2018 denying he knew about the $130,000 payment to Daniels, and denying knowing where Cohen got the money from.
“Did Trump pay it after April 6th?” an incredulous Ingraham asked. “The left is jumping all over that tonight, saying, ‘What the heck? He did know, he didn’t know?’ What’s going on here?”
“These are real questions,” the Washington Examiner’s Byron York said. “Rudy just gave us a completely different version of this.”
York went on to argue that “the real concern is that there would be a campaign finance vulnerability on this.”
“But you have the president on tape on Air Force One saying he did not know about the payment, and you’ll have to ask Michael Cohen about that,” Ingraham replied. “Rudy just goes on with Hannity and says ‘Oh no, he reimbursed them.'”
“Like, what?!” she added.
“First of all, they may not have thought this whole thing through,” York said with a laugh.
“I love Rudy, but they better have an explanation for that,” Ingraham said. “That’s a problem.”
