In the past few days, some on Fox News have invoked the KGB and “secret police” in denouncing the FBI, and MSNBC’s Ari Melber noticed a lot of this “noise” today.
With more conservative media figures amping up criticism of Robert Mueller, Melber took a note of the “noise” and said it’s “getting louder.”
He showed clips of Fox Newsers like Gregg Jarrett and Sean Hannity (taking a shot at the latter’s chart), expressing astonishment at the “secret police” rhetoric.
Max Boot ripped the “disgusting and disgraceful” smearing of Mueller’s character, while Jennifer Rogers said such attacks on the DOJ coming from the President himself are pretty alarming.
During the segment, Melber said he doesn’t “make it a practice” to look at what other channels are doing, but felt this narrative was worth examining.
