Omarosa: You’re Not a ‘Pro-Black President’ When You Lock Your Only Black Assistant in the Situation Room

Omarosa Manigault Newman took aim at President Donald Trump over the handling of her departure from the White House.

During her interview on The Daily Show, Trevor Noah listed several instances when the president said “disparaging things” about Mexicans, Muslims, NFL players, and the “sh*thole countries” and asked if there was ever a “breaking point” for her while she served in his administration. Omarosa responded by saying there were “quite a few breaking points.”

“At first, I thought, ‘Is he doing this intentionally?’ And then when I realized he was mentally impaired, that he was declining,” she said as the audience laughed and cheered. “It’d be funny if it wasn’t true.”

She then pointed out that since her departure seven months ago, there is “still no African American assistant to the president” to discuss issues facing black Americans.

Noah invoked Pastor Darrell Scott, a strong Trump supporter, for recently saying Trump is the “most pro-black president of our lifetime” and asked if she ever thought that while she served in the administration. She sharply rebuked that notion.

“It’s very hard to say that you’re a pro-black president when you lock your only assistant to the president in the Situation Room for two hours, which General John Kelly who makes threats that says ‘Things can get ugly for you and there’ll be damage to your reputation,'” Omarosa said. “It goes completely against the grain that you are completely pro-black when you treat somebody who works so hard for this administration that way.”
