CNN’s Brian Karem Rips Hannity’s Capital Shooting Remarks: ‘He Can Kiss My Big Fat…’

Montgomery County Sentinel executive editor, and Playboy Magazine White House correspondent Brian Karem, a CNN contributor, blasted Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Friday after the talk show host seemed to blame the massacre at the Capital Gazette on Maxine Waters and Barack Obama.

During his radio show yesterday, Hannity drew a connection between the newspaper shooting and the rhetoric Waters and Obama have used about confronting political opponents. Multiple media observers took Hannity to mean he was blaming the congresswoman and former president for the murders, though the Fox host is pushing back and accusing the media of taking him out of context.

Karem knew 4 of the 5 people who were killed in Annapolis, so when he reviewed Hannity’s comments with his colleagues on New Day, he said “it really hurts me to no end to have to listen to someone like Sean Hannity politicize this.” He continued to slam Hannity by saying he doesn’t have what it takes to do the kind of work the murdered Gazette workers did.

“Sean Hannity doesn’t have the ability to work at a community newspaper. He doesn’t have the talent for it. He doesn’t have the temerity for it. His display on television shows you exactly what he’s made of. He couldn’t make it in a community journalism newsroom, so he can kiss my big fat ask me no more questions and I’ll tell you no more lies. It angers me.”
