POLITICO’s VandeHei Reveals Real Reason Everyone’s So Excited About Cantor Loss

POLITICO co-founder Jim VandeHei appeared on Morning Joe Thursday morning and gave about as succinct a description as possible for why the political press corps had blown the story of Eric Cantor’s surprising primary loss Tuesday night to “apocalyptic” proportions, in which everything from immigration reform to the establishment GOP to congressional compromise itself had been doomed by 7,000 Virginia voters:

“Well, first off, it’s a great story. Politics has been boring as heck for the last six months. So I think there’s a lot of excitement that something happened that people didn’t anticipate, that something happened at all in Washington.”

We must be entertained.
