Rick Wilson Slams Border Wall As a ‘Con’ For Trump’s ‘Rube Ten-Toothed Base’
If Donald Trump‘s supporters were upset about being called “deplorables,” then they’ll be even less pleased by CNN guest and Republican strategist Rick Wilson‘s brutal assessment of their intellectual and oral faculties.
On Thursday night’s edition of CNN Tonight with Don Lemon, host Don Lemon asked Wilson to react to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi‘s (D-CA) remarks at an earlier press conference. “This is not a wall between Mexico and the United States that the president is creating here, it’s a wall between reality and his constituents, his supporters,” Pelosi told reporters.
“Is she right about [Trump’s] motives here, this wall is just to keep his base’s mind off of everything else?” Lemon asked.
“Of course,” Wilson said. “Don, the wall has always been a con for Donald Trump’s credulous rube ten-toothed base. The wall has always been a scam. It has always been a lie. Nothing about the wall has ever been real.”
He added that “It’s an insult to their intelligence, but obviously it seems to work with his base because they believe it over and over again, that nothing will stop the brown horde except the wall.”
Lemon then astutely pointed out that contrary to Trump’s “The Wall is Coming” meme, “he wall didn’t work in Game of Thrones, shouldn’t he know that?”
The panel had a good laugh when Wilson cracked that the wall is eventually “going to end with being the freedom ditch.”
Wilson did not specify whether the 10 teeth were a collective count, or per each Trump supporter, but either total would fall well short of the 32 that are contained in the typical human mouth.
But the real question that all of this raises is, if Rick Wilson is guilty of dentism, does that make him a dentist?
