Sarah Sanders Responds to Sam Nunberg Refusing Subpoena: ‘He Hasn’t Worked at the White House’
During Sarah Huckabee Sanders‘ press briefing on Monday, she was asked about the emerging news about Sam Nunberg‘s refusal to testify about Russian activity during the 2016 election.
Nunberg, who used to work for Trump’s 2016 campaign, appeared on TV shortly before Sanders appeared to deliver today’s White House press briefing. The former aide confirmed the recent reports during his unhinged rant about his refusal to adhere to his subpoena, and he also dropped a bombshell that Trump “might have done something” during the presidential election.
When Sanders was asked about this, the press secretary said Nunberg was “incorrect” before stating once again that there was no collusion between Trump and Russia during the 2016 election. Sanders was also asked for the White House’s position on witnesses who have received a subpoena to testify for Robert Mueller‘s investigation.
“He hasn’t worked at the White House, so I certainly can’t speak to him or the lack of knowledge that he clearly has,” Sanders said. “We are fully cooperating with the office of the special counsel. We’re going to continue to do so, and I’ll reiterate once again the reason we are so comfortable doing so is because there is absolutely no collusion within the Trump campaign and any foreign government.”
