Seth Meyers Asks Rachel Maddow If She Has Any Words of ‘Optimism’ for Liberals

In addition to sharing a laugh over Donald Trump and windmills, Seth Meyers and Rachel Maddow spoke last night about whether there is anything for liberals to be optimistic about in the incoming presidency.

Maddow had to think for a second and then said, “I have bright red shoes… I have a family I love and nice dogs.”

More seriously, though, Maddow did talk about a blessing of having “enemies who are cartoonishly evil.” She said liberals should approach the impending Trump presidency with a clarity and unity they haven’t had yet.

And if Trump takes the country to a “really, really out-there place,” Maddow added, it will be interesting times for the opposition.
