Ted Cruz: Obama an ‘Apologist for Radical Islamic Terrorism’

Senator Ted Cruz appeared on Fox News tonight and told Megyn Kelly he doesn’t like how President Obama appears to sound like “an apologist” for radical terrorist groups. Cruz was reacting to the Obama administration’s reticence to identify radical Islamic extremism as a threat to the United States and the world.

Cruz ripped Obama’s “bizarre, politically-correct doublespeak… simply not befitting a Commander-in-Chief.”

Kelly asked Cruz what he would say to the idea, put forth by the White House, that identifying terrorists like ISIS as Islamic would give the terrorists exactly what they want and would undermine the global effort against them. Cruz said that “what undermines the global effort is for the President of the United States to be an apologist for radical Islamic terrorists.”

He cited the president’s now-infamous remarks invoking the Crusades as an example.
