Twitter Has Field Day With Trump’s New Nickname For Sen. Durbin: ‘Dicky Durbin? #Sad’

This afternoon, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to weigh in on the furor over his reported “shithole countries” remarks. He claimed that his comments have been “totally misrepresented” and took aim at Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), who has insisted that the president did indeed disparage Haiti and African nations, as well as the people from those countries.
However, he didn’t just make the claim that he didn’t say “shithole” while taking shots at the Democratic lawmaker. Trump also bestowed a new nickname upon Durbin — “Dicky.”
As you’d imagine, Twitter had a lot to say about the president now labeling the Senate Minority Whip “Dicky Durbin.”
Damn it, Durbin!! Why’d you sign that EO to kick out a million taxpayers for no reason other than petty racism?? Jerk!! Dicky indeed!! https://t.co/0lOiYyqY9e

It took President Genius four days, and the best he could come up with was “Dicky.” Sad. https://t.co/rKTR8Vs8Q4

Pretty remarkable move on Trump’s part to think of that. That’s why he’s the president i suppose. https://t.co/Zh1L9RUedM

PROTIP: When confronting a scandal about hush money you paid to a porn star to cover up an affair, don't throw around the word "dicky" https://t.co/psOWHcGg2S

The president of the United States would like you to know that he insists he did not say "shithole," but did tweet "Dicky" https://t.co/e6YLWVB6ce

It would appear that the general consensus in the media Twittersphere is that they all can’t be winners and that this was a fairly weak effort by the president. Sad!
