Horrifying New Video Shows Deadly Plane Crash in Aspen

Newly released video shows just what happened when a small place crash-landed at Aspen/Pitkin County Airport on January 5th, killing the co-pilot, 54-year-old Sergio Carranza Brabata of Mexico, and seriously injuring the pilot and a second co-pilot, who was traveling as a passenger.

In the black-and-white video below, released by the airport this week, you can see the small plane attempt to touch down on the runway and immediately explode into a fireball. It lifts up in the air again before eventually coming to rest upside-down on the tarmac. The pilot had reported high winds to air-traffic control upon approach.

The small plane crash received additional national attention when comedian Kevin Nealon and country singer LeAnn Rimes, who both happened to be at the airport when it occurred, tweeted information about it live.
