#BlackLivesMatter Protesters Disrupt Minnesota State Fair
#BlackLivesMatter protesters gathered near the Minnesota State Fair today and led a peaceful march around where the fair was being held.
Earlier this week, fair officials had offered to let protesters have a booth inside the fair, but the movement’s St. Louis branch decided to decline the offer.
According to local news reports, they walked over a mile to the state fair. At a bridge on the way, activists lied down for a moment of silence:

In addition to general issues with the treatment of African-Americans, organizers specifically had issues with the fair allegedly not being “welcoming to minority vendors or patrons.”
But they also wanted to call for a reopened investigation into the death of Marcus Golden. Golden was fatally shot by police after authorities say two cops asked him to get out of his car, he didn’t, and then drove at them. A grand jury declined to indict the two officers.
Protesters gathered at the main gate at the fair, where they have been demonstrating during the state event.
