Democratic Rep. Makes Job Offer to McCabe After Firing

One Democratic congressman has made a job offer to Andrew McCabe after his firing last night.
Amid the coverage of McCabe being fired before being able to collect his full pension, MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell tweeted this:
One suggestion from a McCabe supporter: if a friendly member of Congress hired him for a week he could possibly qualify for pension benefits by extending his service the extra days

This morning, Congressman Mark Pocan made that very offer:
Andrew call me. I could use a good two-day report on the biggest crime families in Washington, D.C. https://t.co/DYVP00Em0x

And in a subsequent statement, Pocan––while decrying McCabe’s firing––said, “My offer of employment to Mr. McCabe is a legitimate offer to work on election security. Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of American democracy and both Republicans and Democrats should be concerned about election integrity.”
Additionally, Congressman Tim Walz tweeted a similar sentiment this morning:
This reckless attitude towards Americans’ lives and careers is exactly why this man should not be President. Mr. McCabe, if you need a federal job for a few days, give me a call. We value servant leadership around here.
