Dispatches From Fox Nation: Obama’s New Pastor Is Definitely Not Jeremiah Wright
Now that Rev. Jeremiah Wright is out of the picture, and Pres. Barack Obama and family have settled in D.C., it was time for a new church. But while the First Family haven’t made a definitive choice, his most-frequented pastor has raised some eyebrows for, as The Fox Nation puts it, saying ‘Islam Is Violent.’ Wait, what?
That’s right, one of the main stories at The Fox Nation right now is headlined, “Obama’s New Pastor: ‘Islam Is Violent’“. It links to a Times of London piece on Carey Cash, the navy chaplain at Camp David. Here’s the key part highlighted by the Fox News-owned opinion/community site:
More than a year after he was forced to disown his Chicago pastor, President Obama has begun to attend services led by a Christian chaplain who views Islam as a violent faith.
Mr Obama has been an irregular church attender since becoming President, but has expressed a fondness for Carey Cash, the navy chaplain at the Camp David presidential retreat who has been criticised for proselytising in the military and his mistrust of Islam.
A couple things here: first of all, Cash didn’t actually say the words that are in the headline. He implied it in a book he wrote in 2004, writing Islam “from its very birth has used the edge of the sword as a means to convert or conquer those with different religious convictions.” Slightly different.
But more importantly – this is person who’s the chaplain at Camp David? It certainly is a far cry from rhetoric of Rev. Wright. Fun fact: Rev. Cash is the great-nephew of Johnny Cash.
Our regular Fox Nation commenters, as can be expected, are a bit conflicted on this one. “Georgie Girl” thinks this is great: “Very interesting…we’ll see if he continues to listen to him.”
But “BS Police” thinks he has figured out what’s really going on here:
I’ll bet that BHO is wearing his ear buds, tuning him out, and just there for a photo op.

Well, “BS Police” might have a point. After all, he sat in Wright’s pews for how long without ever hearing him say anything “offensive.” DARN YOU, iPOD!
20 years in the pews. Not to mention he was great friends with the hate monger and he even used Rev Wrights words in speeches he gave (without giving him credit for them).
Even Oprah was smart enough to bolt from that black separatist church.
Obama must have been listening to ball games instead of paying attention to the Rev Wright trash Jews, whites and others.
The Seven Best (Or, Somewhat Memorable) Moments Of The Jay Leno Show

After 95 episodes, the epic failure known as The Jay Leno Show airs its final episode tonight. Of course, Leno himself will be back after the Olympics, comfortably at 11:35pm all over again. Which was pretty much the problem to begin with - the 10pm offering started as a similar product to the Tonight Show, and only became more like the old format as time went on.
