‘Fascist Demagogue’: Trump’s Proposed Muslim Entry Ban Gets Torn Apart on Twitter
Donald Trump‘s proposal to ban all Muslims (even tourists) from entering the United States immediately got widespread condemnation on Twitter, including on the right.
First, Martin O’Malley decided to stop playing nice and go for the jugular:
.@realdonaldtrump removes all doubt: he is running for President as a fascist demagogue.

And CAIR made it clear in a statement to The Daily Beast they’re beyond outraged:

And a few Republican candidates even got in on the condemnation:

Every candidate for president needs to do the right thing & condemn @Realdonaldtrump's statement.

He’s putting at risk the lives of interpreters, American supporters, diplomats, & the troops in the region by making these bigoted comments
— Lindsey Graham (@LindseyGrahamSC) December 7, 2015
Donald Trump is unhinged. His "policy" proposals are not serious.
— Jeb Bush (@JebBush) December 7, 2015
On Trump's Muslim ban, @ChrisChristie: "This is kind of thing people say when they have no experience & no idea what they're talking about."
— Matt Katz (@mattkatz00) December 7, 2015
"Unfortunately I think Donald Trump's over reaction is as dangerous as Obama's under reaction," says Fiorina on Trump's Muslim statement.
— Danny Freeman (@DannyEFreeman) December 7, 2015
I disagree with Donald Trump's latest proposal. His habit of making offensive and outlandish statements will not bring Americans together.
— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) December 8, 2015
And those were just the tip of the iceberg:
Trump has entered John Birch Society/Pat Buchanan territory. Important to save conservatism from him.

Every time the fire gets low, Trump just throw on another log. "Toss ban all Muslims in there now." https://t.co/ohewjo4L1g

This is the fault of Trump first, but it's also the doing of the toxic anti-Muslim polemicists stoking this sickness https://t.co/j76yMSd51k
— Glenn Greenwald (@ggreenwald) December 7, 2015
Hey, are any Muslims allowed in Trump Tower? If so, then Trump is a RINO squish.
— John Podhoretz (@jpodhoretz) December 7, 2015
Democrats: Let's ban due process for Muslims!
Trump: Oh, yeah? Let's ban Muslims from being in America!
What a stupid time to be alive.

Seems like a good moment to rerun this. https://t.co/PUKWf9lOPL

Last thing: Anyone who supports or defends Trump is not a conservative or an ally to conservatives. They are on the other side.
— AG (@AG_Conservative) December 7, 2015
again the media is taking Trump out of context by quoting directly from the statement that he emailed to the entire media.
— Jim Newell (@jim_newell) December 7, 2015
Trump wouldn't allow in Ayaan Hirsi Ali or ministers of any Sunni ally. Such brilliance!
