Gabe Sherman: Roger Ailes Shows Up For Trump Debate Prep With Black Eye

roger_ailes_10.3.11-316x237Gabriel Sherman of New York Magazine took to Twitter late last night with a tidbit of news out of the highly-touted Donald Trump debate prep sessions.

Sherman, the author of the Ailes-based book The Loudest Voice in the Room, has been the chief reporter uncovering sources surrounding the avalanche of harassment law suits aimed at the former Fox News Chairman and CEO. Sherman’s relationship with Ailes and Fox News isn’t exactly the stuff of cordial tea and biscuits; following the publishing of the 2014 book, Ailes allegedly said, “I know where [Sherman] lives, and I’m gonna send people to beat the shit out of him.”

Last week it was reported that Fox News had an opposition file — about 400 pages in length — on the pesky reporter as well, obtained by CNN’s Brian Stelter:

It includes, among other things, property records, voter registration information, and a note that the researchers could find no criminal record for Sherman.

A printout from the Westlaw database contains his past and present addresses and details of his mortgage.

Since being ousted from Fox on July 21 amid an investigation into allegations of harassment, Ailes has agreed to help Republican party nominee Donald Trump with his debate prep ahead of his showdowns with Hillary Clinton; the first debate is scheduled for September 26 at Hofstra University. Ailes previously worked as an advisor on the Richard Nixon campaign in 1968, and did debate prep-style coaching for Ronald Reagan‘s reelection bid and Vice President George Bush in 1988.
