Hillary Reportedly Paid State Dept. Staffer to Maintain Private Server
There have been rumors this week that the State Department staffer who maintained Hillary Clnton‘s private server was paid with taxpayer dollars, but a new report out says he was paid personally by the Clintons.
Bryan Pagliano, an ex-aide to Hillary Clinton, has been the focus of Clinton’s ongoing email controversy this week after 1) digital records indicated he was the one who set up her server, and 2) he pled the fifth.
And now a Washington Post report out today says the Clintons paid him personally, citing an official from Clinton’s campaign. It allowed Clinton more control over the system, but also ensured taxpayers wouldn’t foot the bill.
WaPo also obtained a financial disclosure form in which it’s demonstrated that the Clintons paid Pagliano $5,000 for “computer services” before joining the State Department under Clinton.
Last month, when a State Department official was asked about Pagliano being paid, they said there was “no evidence that he ever informed the department that he had outside income.”
A Clinton campaign spokesman posted this statement on Twitter today:

On MSNBC yesterday, Clinton did not apologize for using private email and said she “didn’t really stop and think what kind of email system there will be.”
