Holder Trashed ‘Issa and His Idiot Cronies’ in Email About Fast & Furious

The Justice Deparment turned over documents to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee today, and it turns out Attorney General Eric Holder strongly trashed that committee’s head in a 2011 email about ongoing investigations into the Fast & Furious ATF scandal.

Congressman Darrell Issa led the Republican charge into the ATF gun-running program that went wrong, looking for the past few years into how high up the scandal went. He had said back in July 2011 that Holder could very well be involved, and a year later, when Holder was held in contempt of Congress, he said the investigation was politically motivated.

And now, in this email obtained by The Wall Street Journal, Holder shared his real feelings three years ago about the investigation:

Issa and his idiot cronies never gave a damn about this when all that was happening was that thousands of Mexicans were being killed with guns from our country. All they want to do- in reality- is cripple ATF and suck up to the gun lobby. Politics at its worst- maybe the media will get it.

And yes, these thousands of documents were released on Election Day.
