Tone Deaf, Part Six: BP CEO Says “I’d Like My Life Back”

video

So this happened. During an interview with NBC News (that aired yesterday morning on Today) BP CEO Tony Hayward was asked if he was sorry. His reply almost hit the mark…until it didn’t, when he said “I’m sorry. We’re sorry for the massive disruption it’s caused their lives. There’s no one who wants this over more than I do. I’d like my life back.” This from the same guy who allegedly claimed that the leak was tiny in a “very big ocean.’

Whoever does PR for this guy should just take him away from the microphones.

I’m first generation away from the British Islands and I do understand there is something lost in the translation…but he is compounding an error whilst being at the forefront of BP.

    He just doesn’t get it.

  • apparently

Oh, I think he gets it. He gets that he somehow has to wade his way through this, and then get
the boot, and he’ll never get another decent job. Hope his house on the Costa del Sol is paid for!

This guy is a complete idiot.

I am sure the Fishermen and Shrimpers in LA would like THEIR lives back too, moron!

I blame Obama for the slow clean up. I want to see the commie out there with a mop and bucket. Now there is a job he might be qualified for

Sorry Cowboy, your remarks are inappropriate here. The government is NOT responsible for cleaning up after private corporations. If you are going to politicize this, then let me remind you that Ronnie Reagan once said that the scariest words in the English language were something like…. ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help’…. so now you want it both ways? Stop your blathering about Obama (so maybe you don’t like him? so what?) and let’s look at the real problem, which is lost jobs, lost livelihoods, a dead gulf of mexico (according to marine biologists), and this high-paid public relations wanker says HE wants HIS life back? THAT is the issue here.
