Judge Napolitano Kindly Asks His Fans To Stop Sending Angry Emails To Fox News… ‘NOW’

Last night, Freedom Watch, the Fox Business Network show hosted by Judge Andrew Napolitano, protected its last American civil liberty. And, while FBN decided it was time for the show to go, that doesn’t mean that it didn’t have its fans. It did. And they were devoted. So devoted that Napolitano was forced to take to his Facebook wall to request that they stop sending angry emails to his colleagues at Fox.

Judge Andrew Napolitano Signs Off From The Last Episode Of Freedom Watch

Here’s the note that Napolitano posted on his profile yesterday entitled “To my friends”:

“Dear Friends–

Many of you are not happy with the cancellation of FreedomWatch, and you have sent emails to my Fox colleagues expressing that unhappiness. In television, shows are cancelled all the time. Two of my former shows have been cancelled, and after each cancellation, Fox has rewarded me with more and better work. This cancellation–along with others that accompanied it–was the result of a business judgment here, and is completely unrelated to the FreedomWatch message. It would make a world of a difference for all of us, if you would KINDLY STOP SENDING EMAILS TO FOX.

I am well. Your values are strong. I will continue to articulate those values here at Fox. But the emails many of you are sending are unfairly interfering with my work and that of my colleagues here. The emails even violate our values because they interfere with the use of private property. I have accepted the cancellation decision with good cheer and a sense of gearing up for the future. You should as well.

As a favor to me, and as I have asked this past weekend, PLEASE STOP SENDING EMAILS TO MY COLLEAGUES AT FOX ABOUT THE CANCELLATION OF FreedomWatch; and please stop NOW.

All the best, apn.”

Man, I am genuinely curious what these emails are now. I mean, not enough that I want to receive them myself (Seriously, I have no power to get Freedom Watch back on the air!), but I’d love to know how his fans are “interfering with [Fox's] private property.”

Anyway, even if Napolitano’s fans are really pissing off his colleagues and making his and their job harder, I’m sure he’s happy to know they care. Maybe they can do it in a more productive fashion. How about, instead of sending angry emails, they can send the Judge a nice Valentine’s Day card.

Really….   “Freedom Watch” ?   That was the name of the show ?  sigh..

  • Charles Ulysses Feney

On FOX Business there was a hero Judge
    Whose Constitutional fervor wouldn’t budge
But they showed him the door
    For another neocon whore
Who’ll fit in with their programming sludge!

with that kind a fan reaction. That should tell Fox something right there.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_HB62J5OFDLFHOMD3DXN2PCROKQ Matthew

Somehow Ron Paul fans become exceedingly corny as time passes.

  • http://Mediaite.com/ Frances Martel

I love the subtle nod to Pokémon in this Valentine’s Day card!

Also, you should all really read the comments on Judge Nap’s post. They’re intense, though I think my favorite is the simple “whoops, I didn’t read the request made before sending my email. Sorry, hope I don’t forget and send 3 more!”

  • Jon Bershad

Subtle nod to Pokemon? I literally don’t know what you mean. Am I subconsciously referencing that show now? Have I finally transformed into Herman Cain?

Edit: Ah, “I choose you.” I’m an idiot.

  • The Real Royal Emperor

Care to hash that out, a bit?

  • Anonymous

He should have been more gracious to his fans than he was. They’re doing this for him. I would have asked them kindly, not in CAPS & in the form of a command.

  • Anonymous

Yes, his fans appear to respect him more than he does for his fans.

  • Pablo

I dunno. This one started corny and I’m not sure it’s capable of getting any worse.

  • Anonymous

Pretty sure the caps are to get the attention of those sending the death threats

  • http://www.proactivepolitics.blogspot.com/ Norbit Peters

Don’t worry judge, Hollywood will be calling.
I heard Weinstein’s got the rights to “Where’s Eddie Munster?”

  • Anonymous

No where in his letter does he mention death threats. He only talks about how these messages interfere with Fox to do business & how they’re violating some sort of property rights.

  • The Real Royal Emperor

But, I should think Paul Ryan the best for that role.

  • Anonymous

“I’d love to know how his fans are “interfering with [Fox's] private property.”

Maybe they are crashing the email server. Spamming laws may apply.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_TWK2YYJTTIDLZIVV7NKZM23Z6Q Tyler

Judge, you know the truth, you were ousted like Beck because you had to cross the line with the Fox execs.

  • Anonymous

It is his libertarian principles that he is referencing, Fox has the right to do with their programming what they will it is part of the bedrock of his principles and consistent with his philosophy of free markets.  He is appealing to his libertarian followers, the same people sending all the emails, to respect this principle and Fox’s right to cancel his show.

The judges supporters should calm down and see what happens here, Fox seems to do a good job of taking care of its talent even when their programming fails, take a look at Alan Combs for instance, he is still a regular on Fox and they had every reason to kick him to the side of the road years ago….  Bottom line the Judge is good with it and seems to understand that this is a business decision and appreciates the fact that he is still apart of the Fox family.

  • JustAsking2012

    How do you figure?

  • Anonymous

Bingo! Got it in one. Apparently Mr. Freedom Watch does not respect the freedom of his viewers to opine to his employers.

  • Katechon Phosphene

I know! Not even a hint of self-awareness or irony. Where would we be without these folks?!

  • Anonymous

And, in the mind of Napolitano, who is always screaming that the left is taking away people’s rights, the non-existent right of a corporation to not get nasty mail is superior to the free speech and expression of mere citizens.

  • Anonymous

Faux has slowly but surely been slipping over to the darkside for some time now.  Sheep dip Smith, whoraldo, Perino, Megan Kelly and the Bloviater are prime examples of top tier Rombots.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bart-Morgay/100001554351938 Bart Morgay

Napolitano is a clown. Good riddance!

  • Anonymous

I didn’t say he mentioned it; but if you read between the lines…

Why else would he STRESS TO HIS FOLLOWERS to stop sending emails to Fox IN CAPS? Was he just using his outdoor voice? Wouldnt he WANT Fox to receive the emails saying how great he is?

Sounds like those aren’t the type they were receiving so he was told to tell his truther/conspiracy theorist followers to KNOCK IT OFF

  • Anonymous

If he’s addressing those sending death threats he should address those sending the death threats specifically. Seems to me that he’s addressing everyone who is sending emails in regards to his show’s cancelation.

  • Anonymous

Yeah, I wasn’t sure what he meant by property rights. He talks a lot about “natural law” which isn’t a right granted by the government but by a creator. I wonder if he thinks this right is given to Fox by God or something.

  • Anonymous

His letter appeared rather unappreciative of them.

  • Anonymous

Agreed, he should have no problem with his fans making use of their 1st amendment rights. There is absolutely no reason for him to take an angry tone with his fans who are doing this to express their support for him. Wasn’t he the one telling them that the right to protest & express their opinions is acceptable? Oh wait, he only meant at Obama. Not his employer.

  • Anonymous

You obviously never watched the show, he’s not a republican hack.  He talked more about civil liberties on his show than the ACLU ever has.

  • Anonymous

Spamming laws? No, they don’t apply,

“False and misleading header information is banned – This means that an email’s “From,” “To” and routing information, including the originating domain name and address, must be accurate and identify the sender.
Deceptive subject lines are prohibited – The subject line cannot mislead the receiver of the message to open it under false pretenses, thinking it’s something else. The receiver must not be mislead as to the contents or subject matter of the email.
Opt-out methods must be provided – A response mechanism must be provided for the receiver to opt-out of any future commercial messages from the sender. In addition, opt-out requests must be processed for at least 30 days after the initial commercial email was sent, and senders have 10 business days after an opt-out request to stop sending messages to that address. Messages cannot be sent to the opt-out requestor on behalf of the sender by any other entity.
Commercial email must be identified as an advertisement and it must include the sender’s valid physical postal address The receiver must be clearly informed that the message is an advertisement or solicitation, he must be told he can opt-out of future mailings, and a valid physical postal address must be included in the message.
Receivers must be warned of sexually explicit material – For any message that contains sexually explicit material, the warning “SEXUALLY-EXPLICIT” must be contained in the subject line.

That’s a beautiful piece of poetic justice that after preaching and whipping up so much hate directed at the left they can’t control the teabagger zombies once they get out of the barn.

Shhhh, wallowing in ignorance is their thing, let ‘em do their thing. I will miss the show but I’m kind of perplexed by the fact that his viewers wrote his colleagues about it. Internal tension?

  • Anonymous

Yes, Fox has the right to do what it wants but the Judge’s fans also have the right to voice their opinions about it. Also, I don’t think the Judge’s fans would be too delighted to see him reduced to that of Alan Combs status.

  • Anonymous

No, I wasn’t aware he was on Facebook.

  • Anonymous

    OK.

  • Anonymous

That’s wha I think as well. Claiming his fans were sendin death threats is a bold claim & if it was the case he should have mentioned that instead of saying they were violating property rights.

  • Anonymous

Hey, he was too much of a Ron Paul supporter and a libertarian, not the typical
RINO that the leprechaun bully and Roger Ayles approves of.  He’s just responding
in kind so not to wind up like Beck and others at FOX

  • Anonymous

Fox would never let him admit that their viewers are wacked out nut jobs that make death threats.  Fox isolates that narrative for black panthers, muslims, and union thugs.

  • Anonymous

He would make a good mall Santa I guess.

  • Anonymous

Good to know that Fox fans violate property rights & interfere with how a company operates. Guess that means the Judge’s viewers are a bunch of fascist trolls.

  • Anonymous

Typing in CAPS is considered angry or authoritative text.

  • Anonymous

He was ousted because of ratings. Beck was ousted because sponsors boycotted him. Both we’re just business decisions.

  • Anonymous

I am not saying that people do not have the right to express their opinion, I actually would prefer watching the Judge than many other of Fox’s shows… I am just saying that hey maybe he is asking people to stop because he still considers himself to be part of the Fox family and this is putting him in an uncomfortable position in his workplace. Like I said he is a libertarian, I read libertarian books when I have the time, he better than most respects Foxes right to do what they have done, that is why he mentions private property, he is referring to the private ownership of Fox news, he understands that they should be left alone to make the decisions they see fit for their business… His viewers have rights too, but he is asking for the emails to stop.

  • Anonymous

I have no problem with that but his letter appeared very angry at his fans & that seemed unnecessary. I personally would not have used the CAPS.

  • Charles Ulysses Feney

I am so disappointed in the judge as he could have gotten into mascara making tracks down his face as he faked cried and shouted LEAVE FAUX ALONE, it would have been perfectly HE-LARRY-US to watch. And the E-mails would have stopped right then and there.

He wasn’t a douche like everyone else on Fox, The Judge knew what he was talking about and was an advocate for true freedom, both civil and economical.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/John-Balzer/100003301853381 John Balzer

While I have not heard about Ron Paul suggesting the Judge, I have heard Gary Johnson potentially suggesting him for VP. Ron Paul is unlikely to win the Republican nomination. Gary Johnson is highly likely to win the Libertarian nomination. Johnson is a strong candidate and is already concerning Democrats as they fear he will siphon off many votes from Obama. A Johnson/Napolitano ticket would shake up this country in a way never before seen. In fairness, Rand Paul is also under consideration as a VP nominee for the Gary Johnson 2012 ticket. God bless America!

  • Ned Rolfs

If anyone who truly loves freedom and liberty really wants to be effective in their actions they should send a message to the GOP that if you don’t stand behind a guy like Ron Paul and unite in the protection of everyone’s freedom and not just the one’s they happen to be fond of then we will stand against the GOP. Meaning if they don’t nominate Ron Paul then we will all unite together and vote Obama. I know I know, Obama is dangerous for this country. But the GOP is just as dangerous. So either way you loose. Send a message and let them find out we’re not bluffing. The GOP voters will think twice in 2016. There are enough of us to determine the outcome. Otherwise it’s just another academic exercise in futility. That’s why Ron Paul runs under Repub. He knows it is pointless to run Libertarian just to say he’s libertarian. He’s more interested in results which we should be to. I don’t care to say I told you so. I want to say to the GOP “If you try and cram GOP tyranny down our throats then we’ll cram Dem tyranny down yours.” What are we afraid of. Do we really think settleing for the lesser of two evils works. When the machines are basically just as evil then really what do you have to loose. And look at what all you have to gain. I say we send them the statement and make it known. By the way WOW, a Paul/Napolitano administration. That just sounds too good to even imagine.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_NGU3DAAIHVPK6K3B7Z323X6IXM jack

Easy. You tell them they haven’t an ounce of respect because they fail to speak the truth as did Judge Napolitano.

  • Anonymous

Napolitano say’s this to his fans, “The emails even violate our values because they interfere with the use of private property.” That is insane. I am not a big fan of the judge but to his fans who believed in him, this is crap! He then goes on ordering you fans not to send emails because you’re hurting the feelings of a few of his friends at the FOX network. Boo-Hoo you saps! Get out of the business of broadcast media journalism then! First of all they are FOX they have no fricking values. Secondly that’s ridiculous they are a business and you the viewers are their customers, if they (FOX) don’t want you to voice your thoughts, ideas and opinions about what’s going on then they shouldn’t have a comments section on they’re websites. My next point is that these statements that he makes, means that they are pulling the same crap that they tell their viewers on a regular basis, that the government (and Obama) are infringing on you’re rights of freedom of speech. WHAT ARE THEY DOING by making these fallacious accusations about your emails that only show you’re strong acceptance and support of his show. They are trying to shut you up about making a statement of their product and showing your concerns. He’s blaintantly telling you all to shut up ! The judge knows this because “He’s a f#*#ing Judge!” FOX is the type of business that puts the word total in the word totalitarian, while they chant FREEDOM, FREEDOM, FREEDOM!!! And then get their viewers hyped up about being good PATRIOTS, PATRIOTS, PATRIOTs! Here’s some words for you judge Napoleon, Go hump yourself and don’t give me this crap about free speech all the time in one breath, and then tell us to shut up in the next breath, because that is exactly what your doing here. Try and intimidate someone else you phony hack. May god bless you in your future acting indeavors. The worlds a stage and we’re all just actors in it…except for some of us who are just puppets. We thought you were a leader on this stage apparently we tho you puppet!

It was definitely the only show that constantly talked about freedom and civil liberties. Too bad Fox cancelled it. The powers that be can’t have the sheeple wake up, now can they?

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/4W3VJQFZSKZC4UMRDW2WZ6M5HA Sam

Very shocked that the judge would tell people to stop opining. Hypocritical dude. I sent a very nice and repectful email saying how that is the only show I watch on cable and will now be forced to cancel my subscription. That is The Plain Truth.
If his FOX colleagues are so upset with emials, then don’t make your email addresses public. That is just dumb.
If the judge really has another gig planned, then maybe he should tell people that. Why all the secrecy? Secrecy leads to speculation, paranoia and conspiracy theory.
Maybe he was canned for his loud and very vocal support of Ron Paul. Maybe he is going to work for the Paul campain…..hope so.
    Anyway

    RON PAUL 2012…..yahoo!

  • Anonymous

Don’t you get it. They don’t care if Obama wins or Romney wins, just as long as the rogue candidate, Ron Paul doesn’t win. The Democrat and Republican parties are one, with one interest in mind.  There petty squabbles are meant to give the public the illusion of a two party system.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_FW4XDHAKRBAG56QFUVE75JK7O4 Kate

Voting for Obama is like cutting off your nose to spite your face. To show the establishment we are not going to put up with their bull you vote outside of the 2 party system. It may be time to go Libertarian, Green etc…. But who knows Paul may have the delegates to win the nomination whether the establishment likes it or not.

Many American citizens have been so dumbed down over the past 50 plus years they are led to believe  anything.
By cancelling “Freedom Watch”, Fox cancelled the very BEST they had to offer.
Nearly a year ago, it was Glen Beck, controversial in some circles.
Fox has lost me as a seasoned 10 year viewer following this stunt.  I am but one viewer and the loss of one viewer is of no conseqence’; but I will go on a one person campaign to (1) share information how Fox News is little different than main stream media (shielded under the very disquise of a FOX).  They too share in Liberal-Nazi like reporting.  I will also boycott all products  advertised on FOX!
JUST this once, once in a lifetime…..  think for yourself

Have the Soros run media  groups infiltrated Fox. First Beck, now the Judge.?  I am sorry to see the judge go, but why,and who is next?  Fox is the only station I trusted, but now I wonder if they are going the way of the lame stream media,by reporting  what they feel is best. Sick!  I still miss Beck, it was the best program on TV for truthful reporting.

  • Anonymous

One could very well speculate the George Soros media has infiltrated FOX. My personal opinion is a G. Soros led effort aimed directly at FOX became the demise of G. Beck at FOX.  With the most descent and courageous Conservative man (Judge Napalitano) speaking in behalf of Liberty and Freedom now terminated by FOX, I have NOW had it with FOX!

  • http://www.facebook.com/revthis Rev. Martin S. Murphy

I have my own theory as to why the show got canceled and it wasn’t Fox that canceled it. I believe the show was canceled because it would be a conflict of interest when the Judge becomes Ron Paul’s VP. The same thing happened to the show called “Heartland” when John Kasich ran for office. In one statement I read somewhere, the judge says cryptically and I quote “…it interferes with what I am trying to accomplish.” in regard to the emails sent to Fox. Why would Fox cancel their number one show?

“One time somebody asked me who I would consider and the name Judge
Napolitano jumps right out at me,” Paul said to raucous cheers of
    approval.

    “AMERICA
    THE BEAUTIFUL”

    America
the Beautiful and Land of the Free! Indeed! America must be considered as the
ultimate bastion of democracy in the world! Why? The deal is, if it were in
some Latin American countries or even in other European nations, Rush Limbaugh
would not have a platform not alone an audience to spit his sulfuric demagogy
and charlatanism on the airwave. The unpolished , boorish Republicans or call
them modern Republicans, if you want, prompted by Rush are out of touch! They
are living in an utopian world whereof they wish that the black slaves could
still be vassals of the white masters, the wives can still be the domestics or
the properties of their husbands. It is astounding to conceptualize that there
is still yet a group of people who are drown under the weight of abysmal ,
unfathomable ignorance when the world is changing with the speed of the light ;whether
it is in technology, ethnicity, demography or sociology: The grandson of a
slave is married to the daughter of a wealthy white maverick or host a Grammy
award in Hollywood, immigrants now serve in Congress or Senate ; people are
watching TV via their mobile phone, cars are talking to us and leading us
throughout the highways! This is mesmerizing what’s is going on our globe. This
is not the era where the Roman Papal oligarchy steadfastly implied that the
earth is flat and those who attempted to prove them wrong ( During the
Scientific Revolution era-14th Century) by scientific method were castigated
,tortured or choked in silence,( i.e, Copernicus, Galileo.) Hence, amid this
technological revolution, social and class emancipation, Republicans still call
themselves Conservatives or for better  or worst Retrograders! If Rush Limbaugh can
still occupy the airwave with this kind of hideous, aberrant discourse, America
must be proud itself to be called a blind-folded tolerant country!
