Limbaugh: Hobby Lobby Ruling Strikes Blow Against Obama ‘Assault’ on Liberty
Rush Limbaugh reacted to the big Supreme Court ruling on Hobby Lobby today by declaring it a victory for religious liberty against the Obama administration’s “all-out assault on the Constitution.” He said Obama doesn’t like governing with constitutional limits on his power and so starts “whining” whenever he doesn’t get his way.
And so what the Supreme Court ruling means, Limbaugh said, is that Obama can’t “unilaterally dictate how religion is to be practiced” and that “the First Amendment is not a casual plaything for cavalier statists, whether in the executive branch or whether in Congress.”
And as for what the decision actually did, Limbaugh dismissed the idea it’s a significant blow for contraception, saying that “women can still go to Target or Walmart and buy a month’s worth of conception for nine dollars” and expressing disbelief at the idea that “we’ve gotten to this point where women should not have to pay for their own birth control.”
