Miss America CEO Resigns Following Uproar Over Crass Emails

The CEO and executive chairman of the Miss America Organization has resigned amid the ongoing fallout over crass emails he sent and received.

Sam Haskell was initially suspended yesterday following the explosive Huffington Post report about emails fat-shaming, slut-shaming, etc.

One email involved Haskell joking with pageant writer Lewis Friedman about calling former Miss Americas “c*nts.”

Haskell said in a statement that “much of what was reported is dishonest, deceptive, and despicable,” calling the emails “not indicative of my character.”
