Paul Ryan Spox After Trump Remarks: ‘Thug’ Putin ‘Should Stay Out of This Election’
Paul Ryan has gone ahead and latched himself to Donald Trump as the “hey, he’s more likely to implement a conservative agenda” candidate, but surely Trump’s comments about Russia today gave him pause.
After all, Ryan has decried weak American foreign policy that creates a vacuum for Vladimir Putin‘s aggressive actions. But not only has Trump been saying things that might sound good to Putin, but today he literally invited Russia to find Hillary Clinton‘s missing emails if he has them.
And, we should note, during that presser today, Trump was asked about whether he would unequivocally declare that Putin should stay out of the U.S. election. Trump’s response?
“I’m not going to tell Putin what to do. Why should I tell Putin what to do?”
A little later, a spokesman for Ryan told Putin what to do:
Russia is a global menace led by a devious thug. Putin should stay out of this election.
